SDAC at Stafford Walking Street

SDAC poster

In an attempt to reach the people of Stafford, and raise our profile a bit we shall be at Stafford Walking Street today, the 27th May. This is the first time we’ve been there, and we shall have some posters and other materials from our members, as well as members of the SDAC you can come and talk to about any projects you might have in mind, or just to understand what we do.

Stafford Walking Street is a monthly event in the centre of Stafford run by LR Partnership. It brings live music from local bands and artists, food and drink and a few related marquees like ours together in a wonderful evening of entertainment.

I’m really looking forward to enjoying some live music, some nice food, and just enjoying the ambience. After so many months without live performance this is just what we need.

See you there!

Chairman, SDAC

Grant Applications Go Online!

Through the last year the SDAC has been modernising various aspects of it’s operation to better serve our members, as well as meet the needs of GDPR and data privacy. This is an ingoing effort, as data privacy and security is a critical part of any organisation which collects personal information on people, and in our case, awards funds in the form of grants.

We did some tidying as regards our email and hosting, and now the only two email addresses you need to worry about are:

Secretarysecretary@stafforddistrictartscouncil.org.uk
Treasureraccounts@stafforddistrictartscouncil.org.uk

Additionally, we are no longer dealing with cheques, and all subscriptions and grant awards shall be made by direct transfer. You can find details of how to pay subscriptions on our members page.

Of most impact to you – we have also taken our grant application form online, and updated it to reflect events with remote participation or audience! This is a huge leap forward for us in terms of data retention, and we hope makes the whole application experience easier.

Over the coming months we shall also be moving our event evaluation and other forms online, so stay tuned.

Chairman, SDAC

The Game
Blackton Football Club is in trouble, and the chairman is about to sell his star player to save the club and himself from ruin, as well as indulging in a bit of match fixing. But his daughter, the star player’s fiancée, may have something to say about this. And the star’s redoubtable mother looks likely to scupper both the marriage and the transfer. A story of love, honour, class and football in the 1900s, by the author of Hobson’s Choice, Harold Brighouse.
