The Game
Blackton Football Club is in trouble, and the chairman is about to sell his star player to save the club and himself from ruin, as well as indulging in a bit of match fixing. But his daughter, the star player’s fiancée, may have something to say about this. And the star’s redoubtable mother looks likely to scupper both the marriage and the transfer. A story of love, honour, class and football in the 1900s, by the author of Hobson’s Choice, Harold Brighouse.

Photos from Tree of Life Project

Here are some photos of the Tree of Life the women and children designed in workshops with ICAP artists Helen Wilson and Mark Uttley

“We had a wonderful time as always working with this group. The children are thirsty to learn about anything especially creative)

The artwork was then put together as a large scale composition and individual designs were then digitally formatted and sent to the fabricators to be reproduced in perspex. The work is returned in panels of perspex rather like a jigsaw so it takes a while to piece it altogether.”

24 April at 19:00–22:00

Stafford Gatehouse Theatre
Eastgate Street, ST16 2LT Stafford

Join us to explore the darker side of local folklore, with short films, theatre, music and art.

The main event is the debut screening of the new short film by Jonathon Watkiss Films and Sound (who’s last film The Doxey Boggart is traveling the international film festival circuit) entitled BONES PICKED. The film is a creepy and darkly humorous telling of four such folk tales.

The night will also involve some drama and music of sorts, along with showings of other short films. Finally, the evening will be a platform for the unveiling of four specially commissioned peices of art inspired by BONES PICKED.
